Eagles' A.J. Brown Stuns Fantasy Football Fans After 0 Targets in 1st Half vs. Cowboys

Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown had a quiet first game of the year against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.

Brown finished with just one catch, which came on the final drive.

The Eagles finished with a 24-20 win, but fantasy managers were disappointed by the showing, especially in the first half as Brown wasn't even targeted by Jalen Hurts.

Hurts targeted five players in the first half, but Brown wasn't among them.

It was a surprising result for the three-time Pro Bowl wideout, who has been a strong fantasy contributor throughout his career.

Brown was tied for No. 12 among all receivers with an average score of 16.7 fantasy points in PPR leagues last season, via FantasyPros.

While he was limited to just 13 games in 2024 due to a hamstring injury, he still crossed the 1,000-yard threshold for the fifth time in his six NFL seasons.

Brown hauled in 67 receptions on a team-high 97 targets for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns, as he was targeted at least four times in every single appearance.

He previously recorded at least 1,400 yards and seven scores in each of his first two years with the Eagles.

While Philadelphia boasts a talented receiving corps that also includes DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson, Brown has still proven himself as Hurts' top target throughout their first three years as teammates.

The connection between the two started off slow in Week 1 of the Eagles' Super Bowl defense, though.
