'Street Fighter' Movie Release Date Revealed, Features WWE's Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes

The upcoming Street Fighter movie starring WWE Superstars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes is set for a fall 2026 release.

According to Aaron Couch of The Hollywood Reporter, the Legendary-produced and Paramount-distributed film will be available to moviegoers on Oct. 16, 2026.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter will be set in 1993, which is the year Super Street Fighter II took arcades and home video game consoles by storm.

Reigns will play the role of Akuma in the movie, while Rhodes has been cast as Guile. The movie also stars New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Hirooki Goto, rapper 50 Cent, comedians Andrew Schulz and Eric André, and actor Jason Momoa.

Rhodes is the reigning WWE champion, while Reigns held the title for a historic 1,316 consecutive days from 2020 to 2024.

Reigns and Rhodes are two of WWE's most popular performers, and they headlined back-to-back WrestleManias against each other in 2023 and 2024.

In the main event of WrestleMania 39, Reigns retained the WWE title against Rhodes thanks to interference from Solo Sikoa.

However, one year later at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Rhodes defeated Reigns and ended his legendary run in a match that featured run-ins from the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker and The Rock.

The new Street Fighter film, which is currently in production, marks the biggest live-action movie release for the franchise since 1994 when Jean-Claude Van Damme starred in the original Street Fighter.
