The six-time Pro Bowler said he was "hit with a ton of bricks" when his doctor first told him he had cancer.
"I was nervous because of the doctor talking about that 'C' word. Me?" Moss said. "I just think that when you live your life, you know, a certain type of way of, you know, eating right, taking care of your health, and all of a sudden you get diagnosed with cancer. I was overwhelmed."
His cancer went into remission after he completed all of his treatments.
Moss first announced last December on social media he was "battling something internal" that would require him to take a leave of absence from his on-air role at ESPN.
The 48-year-old returned in February ahead of Super Bowl LIX.
ESPN confirmed to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand in July that he'd be back for his full-time role during the 2025 NFL season.
"Randy's return on Super Bowl Sunday was an emotional lift — not just for our team but for the entire football community — and knowing he will resume his full Sunday NFL Countdown schedule, beginning in Week 1, has been the highlight of the offseason," the company said.
Moss is widely regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers of his generation. He ranks fourth all time in receiving yards (15,292) and second in touchdown reception (156).
The Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots legend was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018, his first year of eligibility.
