US Open Tennis 2025 Results, Wednesday's Bracket Winners, Losers and Highlights
Amanda Anisimova avenged her loss in the Wimbledon final to Iga Swiatek on Wednesday at the 2025 US Open.
The American No. 8 seed beat the No. 2 seed in straight sets to advance to her third career Grand Slam semifinal.
Anisimova and No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula are the only American singles players left in the men's or women's draws.
Anisimova will face No. 23 seed Naomi Osaka in the semifinals. Osaka took out No. 11 seed Karolina Muchova on Wednesday night.
Felix Auger-Aliassime continued to fly the flag for Canada in New York, as he reached the semifinals with a four-set win over Alex De Minaur.
Auger-Aliassime will face top seed Jannik Sinner, who once again won in straight sets on Wednesday night against Lorenzo Musetti.
Men's Singles
1 of 2
No. 1 Jannik Sinner def. No. 10 Lorenzo Musetti, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2
No. 25 Felix Auger-Aliassime def. No. 8 Alex De Minaur, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5, 7-6 (4)
Felix Auger-Aliassime earned the second Grand Slam semifinal berth of his career with a four-set win on Wednesday.
Auger-Aliassime last featured in a semifinal at the 2021 US Open.
Since then, the Canadian struggled just to get out of the first few rounds of major tournaments. He lost in the first or second round in his three trips to New York prior to 2025.
Auger-Aliassime eliminated three seeded players already, including No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev, but facing top seed Jannik Sinner will be a whole different task.
Sinner cruised to a three-set win over his fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti on Wednesday night.
Sinner's lost more than two games in a set just once in the last two rounds against Musetti and No. 23 seed Alexander Bublik.
A similar result is expected against Auger-Aliassime because of the level that the top seed is currently playing at.
Women's Singles
2 of 2
No. 8 Amanda Anisimova def. No. 2 Iga Swiatek, 6-4, 6-3
No. 23 Naomi Osaka def. No. 11 Karolina Muchova, 6-4, 7-6 (3)
Amanda Anisimova looked far better than she did in the Wimbledon final against Iga Swiatek.
Anisimova, who was shutout in the Wimbledon final, picked up a straight-set win in the rematch with the No. 2 seed.
Anisimova rebounded from an early break of serve by Swiatek to claim the first set and the momentum in the quarterfinal contest.
The eighth-seeded American will be the highest seed in her semifinal matchup, no matter which player advances from Wednesday night's match.
Anisimova will take on No. 23 seed Naomi Osaka, who won in straight sets over No. 11 seed Karolina Muchova.
Osaka's win put her in her first Grand Slam semifinal since the 2021 Australian Open.
Osaka needed a tiebreak win in the second set to finish off the match in two sets.
The winner of the Anisimova-Osaka semifinal on Thursday will take on the winner of the Aryna Sabalenka-Jessica Pegula semifinal in Saturday's final.
