Amon-Ra St. Brown Defends Caleb Williams from Social Media Critics, 'I Feel Bad'
Chicago Bears second-year quarterback Caleb Williams has his fair share of critics, but even one of his opponents feels the negativity surrounding him has gone too far.
Detroit Lions star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown called out fans on social media for their criticism of Williams, which he feels is often unwarranted.
"No matter what he does, good or bad, it's all on Twitter. I swear, he can't breathe. ... He takes one step wrong, they say, Caleb did this, this, this. Like, bro, they can't just let it be. I feel bad sometimes," St. Brown said during this week's episode of the St. Brown Podcast.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After being selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, Williams had a lackluster rookie season and was outshined by his counterparts. No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship Game and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, the No. 3 pick, was named to the Pro Bowl as an alternate.
Any struggles that Williams had this offseason while learning a new offense being instilled by first-year Bears head coach Ben Johnson quickly went viral. However, he silenced some of his doubters with a strong preseason performance against the Buffalo Bills in which he threw for 107 yards and a touchdown on 6-of-10 passing.
Williams will have the chance to further shut down his critics when the Bears open the 2025 season in a primetime matchup against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
