Travis Kelce Discusses Taylor Swift Engagement, Thanks Fans, 'It's Been Awesome'

For the first time since it was announced last week, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce publicly discussed his engagement to global music megastar Taylor Swift.

Speaking Wednesday on his New Heights podcast (beginning at the 2-minute mark), Kelce expressed his appreciation for everyone who has congratulated him on the engagement thus far.

"I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something, and all the posts and all the excitement that's been going on," Kelce said. "It's been really fun telling everybody who I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with. ... It's been awesome."

On Aug. 26, Swift posted a photo of Kelce proposing to her on Instagram and included the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

The high-profile relationship first went public early in the 2023 NFL season, and they have been at the forefront of sports and pop culture ever since.

During the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Swift was often seen in attendance at Kelce's games, including the Chiefs' win over the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII.

In addition to planning a wedding, both Kelce and Swift are in the midst of a busy time when it comes to their careers.

The 2025 NFL regular season starts this week, and Kelce's Chiefs play Friday against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil.

Meanwhile, Swift recently announced her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is set for an Oct. 3 release.

Kelce and Swift have yet to announce a wedding date, and it is unclear if they will do so publicly, but it is perhaps safe to assume that it won't happen until the NFL offseason at the earliest.
