Roger Goodell Says 'Maybe' Taylor Swift Will Play Super Bowl Halftime Show amid Rumors
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell did not rule out the possibility that Taylor Swift could play the Super Bowl LX halftime show when discussing next February's championship game on Wednesday's episode of the Today Show.
When asked if Swift was invited to perform next February in Santa Clara, Goodell answered, "We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time."
Goodell was then asked if Swift's halftime show was already "in the works."

"I can't tell you anything about that... it's a maybe," Goodell said.
Swift announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on Aug. 26 in a joint Instagram post.
Swift has performed for the NFL in the past, although never at a Super Bowl. She sang the National Anthem ahead of the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Day game in 2006 and performed before the NFL's 2010 season opener in New Orleans.
More recently, she announced the name of her single "ME!" during the 2019 NFL draft and debuted a teaser for her 10th studio album Midnights during a Thursday Night Football broadcast in 2022.
The pop star has also been a regular attendee at Chiefs games since her relationship with Kelce first became public in 2023.
Swift attended both Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, where she was on the field to celebrate with Kelce after the Chiefs claimed a second consecutive championship with a victory over the San Francisco 49ers, and Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, where the Philadelphia Eagles spoiled the Chiefs' hopes of a three-peat.
Goodell's Today Show appearance came around the time last year that the NFL locked in its Super Bowl performer. Kendrick Lamar announced on Sept. 8, 2024 that he would be performing during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
Swift announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on a recent episode of Kelce's podcast. The album is set to release on Oct. 3.
If Swift and the NFL ultimately work out an agreement to get her on stage in Santa Clara, she could be performing songs from the new album when Super Bowl LX takes place at Levi's Stadium on Feb. 8, 2026.
