NFL Exec Praises Jordan Love, Packers' Roster, 'I Don't Know Where Their Weakness Is'

Doric SamSep 3, 2025

Entering the 2025 season, the Green Bay Packers are projected to emerge as one of the league's elite teams.

The Athletic's Mike Sando spoke to an NFL executive who feels the Packers are a complete team after shoring up any roster holes this offseason.

"The receivers are maybe best in the league, they have a couple good tight ends and they spent some on the O-line," the exec said. "I don't know where their weakness is. Maybe it is the quarterback (Jordan Love), but I think he is going to be fine in the end."

As Green Bay's full-time starting quarterback for the last two seasons, Love has thrown 57 touchdowns across 32 games. The 26-year-old now has even more talent around him following the arrival of rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden, who was drafted 23rd overall. A big year for Love could vault him into MVP contention this season.

The Packers also pulled off the most shocking move of the offseason when they acquired star edge rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys last week. Parsons is joining an already strong defensive unit in Green Bay that ranked sixth in the NFL last season with 315.6 yards allowed per game, so his presence is expected to help the team ascend further.

"Green Bay has very few holes on paper," another voter told Sando. "Youngest team in the league. The offense should be loaded. Matt LaFleur is one of the most underrated coaches. You add Parsons to go with a much-improved defense already last year."

The Packers will try to live up to their newfound lofty expectations when they open the 2025 campaign on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
