Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Reportedly Will Play vs. Eagles After Knee Injury Rehab
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is expected to play in the team's season-opening game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Diggs missed the Cowboys' final four games and six of their final seven games last season due to a knee injury, which required surgery in December.
After spending much of training camp on the physically unable to perform list, Diggs passed his physical, and he was activated on Aug. 24.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Diggs, who turns 27 on Sept. 20, has been hampered by knee ailments for much of the past two seasons.
Prior to his knee limiting him to just 11 games last season, Diggs appeared in only two games during the 2023 campaign due to a torn ACL.
Before that, the 2020 second-round pick out of Alabama had been named to the Pro Bowl in back-to-back years.
His breakout occurred during his second NFL season in 2021 when he recorded 52 tackles, 21 passes defended and a league-high 11 interceptions. As a result, he earned Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro honors.
Diggs repeated as a Pro Bowler in 2022 by virtue of finishing with 59 tackles, 14 passes defended and three picks.
When Diggs went down early in the 2023 season with a torn ACL, DaRon Bland stepped up as the Cowboys' CB1, recording a league-leading nine interceptions and setting a single-season NFL record with five pick sixes.
Bland was named a Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro, and he finished fifth in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting, which suggested the Cowboys would perhaps have a superstar cornerback duo on their hands in 2024.
However, both players were limited by injuries last season with Bland missing 10 games and Diggs missing six.
On Sunday, the Cowboys signed Bland to a four-year, $92 million contract extension to go along with the five-year, $97 million deal Diggs signed in 2023.
That suggests the Cowboys are fully committed to Diggs and Bland as their starting cornerback duo in 2025 and beyond, and there will likely be a lot on their plate this season.
After trading superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, it will be difficult for Dallas to generate a consistent pass-rush, thus placing the onus on Diggs and Bland to be dominant in coverage.
That won't be easy Thursday night against one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL in Philly's A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
