Luke Goedeke, Buccaneers Reportedly Agree to 4-Year, $90M Contract Extension

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Luke Goedeke has agreed to a four-year, $90 million extension, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday.

The deal includes $50 million in guarantees, per Rapoport and Garafolo.

Goedeke, 26, started 13 games last season in his third campaign with the Bucs. He had one year and a $3.8 million cap hit remaining on his rookie contract prior to his extension, per Spotrac.

Wide receiver Mike Evans congratulated Goedeke on the extension on Tuesday (h/t Fox Sports' Greg Auman).

"Big Luke, that's my guy. We're gonna need him," Evans said.

Goedeke, who began his NFL career as a guard, developed into a starting tackle by his sophomore 2023 season with the Bucs.

While playing opposite Tristan Wirfs, who led all offensive tackles last season with a 94.1 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, Goedeke developed into a top blocker himself while playing 907 offensive snaps.

Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield said in January he believed Goedeke was "one of the most underrated linemen in the league."

Extending Goedeke will allow the Buccaneers to solidify their homegrown offensive line for the near future.

The Bucs selected Goedeke out of Central Michigan in the second round in 2022, continuing a pattern of focusing on offensive linemen in the draft.

Wirfs (first round, 2020), Cody Mauch (second round, 2023) and Graham Barton (first round, 2024) were all drafted by the Bucs and went on to become regular starters in Tampa Bay.

Of the five offensive linemen set to start when the Bucs kick off the 2025 season on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, only Ben Bredeson (signed in free agency ahead of the 2024 campaign) wasn't developed in Tampa.

The Bucs will now hope having all five starters signed through at least the 2026 campaign will provide some key consistency around Mayfield as the quarterback heads into the second season of his three-year contract.
