Lions' Jared Goff Says He Likes 'When They Doubt Us' Ahead of 2025 NFL Season
The Detroit Lions have firmly established themselves as contenders over the last few seasons, but Jared Goff is still embracing the underdog mentality heading into the 2025 campaign.
"I like being on this side of it more when they doubt us," the quarterback said, per ESPN's Eric Woodyard.
When Goff arrived in Detroit, the Lions were one of the worst teams in the NFL, finishing 3-13. They showed some improvement in 2022 before emerging as one of the top teams in the league in 2023, when they made a run to the NFC Championship.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After that season, Detroit came into the 2024 campaign with plenty of hype, and the Lions lived up to it during the regular season, finishing 15-2. They ultimately faced an upset loss to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round, but it's clear Detroit is capable of competing for a Super Bowl.
Things might look different this season since former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who put together one of the top offenses in the league last season, is now the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
His departure might have fans questioning whether Detroit can stay relevant in the NFC, but Goff will embrace those who doubt his squad this year.
