Alcaraz Beats Lehecka, Updated US Open Men's Tennis Bracket After Tuesday Results
Carlos Alcaraz has secured his place in the 2025 US Open semifinals without dropping a single set in the tournament.
Alcaraz defeated No. 20 Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 in a dominant quarterfinal win on Tuesday to advance to the semis in Queens.
The Word No. 2 has now advanced to three straight major semifinals this year, including his French Open win in June and his Wimbledon final loss to No. 1 Jannik Sinner in July.
He will continue seeking his first US Open championship since 2022 after taking less than two hours to eliminate Lehecka.
Lehecka saved a break point in the third set before Alcaraz prevailed to win his 59th match of the year. He did not face a break point during the win.
Alcaraz will now have to wait until Tuesday night's quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 Taylor Fritz and No. 7 Novak Djokovic to learn who will stand between him and a trip to the final.
Fritz, last year's US Open runner-up, and Djokovic, who joined Alcaraz in reaching all four Grand Slam quarterfinals this season, are set to begin playing at 8:10 p.m. ET at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 8 Alex de Minaur or No. 25 Felix Auger-Aliassime will open play on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. ET for one of the two remaining semifinal spots.
Whoever wins will get the chance to take on either reigning US Open champion Sinner and No. 10 Lorenzo Musetti, who will wrap up the men's singles quarterfinals Wednesday night at 8:10 p.m. ET.
