Peyton Manning Hypes Broncos' Bo Nix, 'I Only See Him Getting Better' in NFL Career

Andrew PetersSep 1, 2025

A legendary Denver Broncos quarterback has high hopes for Bo Nix.

Peyton Manning, who won a Super Bowl with Denver in 2015, said Nix is on his way to a great NFL career after a strong rookie season.

"I signed in Denver as a free agent after playing for 14 years. Being drafted here, that's an even different kind of pressure. I was certainly aware of the responsibility that comes with it, and I believe Bo is as well. It is important. People care so much, and you feel that," Manning told The Denver Post's Troy Renck. "That's the kind of environment you want, where they talk about your team during the season, free agency and the draft. It's an unbelievable place to play. I believe Bo understands it and embraces it. I only see him getting better."

Though Nix was the sixth quarterback taken in the 2024 NFL draft, he was one of the most impressive rookies last year. He threw for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns, adding 430 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Behind his outstanding rookie campaign, Nix led the Broncos to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season, when Manning helped lead them to a Super Bowl.

The next task for Nix is avoiding a sophomore slump. Many second-year quarterbacks have put together solid rookie years only to struggle in Year 2, but Manning thinks Nix is on his way to an even better second season.
