
US Open Tennis 2025 Results, Monday's Bracket Winners, Losers and Highlights
Four-time major champion Naomi Osaka advanced to a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the time in four years on Monday afternoon.
Osaka eliminated Coco Gauff, the No. 3 seed and highest-ranked American woman, in straight sets inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.
All four of Osaka's Grand Slam titles came on hard courts, so she has to be viewed as a threat to Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek.
Swiatek pushed into the final eight on Monday afternoon as well with a two-set victory.
Only one of the eight singles matches played in New York on Monday did not finish in straight sets.
Jannik Sinner, Alex De Minaur and Amanda Anisimova were among the other straight-set winners.

Felix Auger-Aliassime reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal since the 2022 Australian Open with a his win over Andrey Rublev.
The 25th-seeded Canadian, who beat Alexander Zverev in the third round, took out Rublev in straight sets.
The deep run in New York is a welcome sight for the No. 25 seed, who hasn't made it past the fourth round of a major since he reached the final eight in Australia in 2022.
Auger-Aliassime faces No. 8 seed Alex De Minaur in the quarterfinals.
De Minaur needed just one hour and 33 minutes to eliminate unseeded Swiss player Leandro Riedi.
De Minaur has now reached five quarterfinals in his last eight Grand Slam appearances. He hasn't reached a semifinal yet, though.
Top seed Jannik Sinner had the most impressive win in the men's singles draw on Monday, as he wiped the floor with No. 23 seed Alexander Bublik.
Sinner's 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 win only kept him on the court for an hour and 21 minutes, so he'll be plenty fresh for his fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the quarterfinals.

Naomi Osaka was the far better player in her matchup with No. 3 seed Coco Gauff.
The four-time Grand Slam champion took care of the highest-ranked American in straight sets.
Osaka won three of her four matches in straight sets. At her best, she can challenge Iga Swiatek for a spot in the final .
Swiatek lost just four games in her round-of-16 clash with Ekaterina Alexandrova.
The No. 2 seed has only lost one set through four rounds. If she wins in the quarters, she'll likely face Osaka for a spot in the final.
Swiatek will face No. 8 seed Amanda Anisimova in the quarters in a rematch of the 2025 Wimbledon final.
Anisimova looked impressive in her straight-set win over Beatriz Haddad Maia.
Anisimova and Jessica Pegula are the two American title hopefuls left on the women's side.
