NFL Exec Says Patriots' Drake Maye Has 'Every Physical Trait You'd Want' in a QB
The Athletic's Jeff Howe polled NFL coaches and executives about a number of topics for the upcoming season, including who were the top three quarterbacks they would select if they were starting a franchise.
The usual suspects topped the list—Josh Allen (23 votes); Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow (19 votes each); Jayden Daniels (13 votes); Lamar Jackson (seven votes)—but New England Patriots second-year quarterback Drake Maye also received two votes in the exercise.
"(Maye has) every physical trait you'd want (plus) the competitiveness," one of those voters said. "He got better over the course of the year. It's probably too early to put him on that list, but if you're going young and counting the contracts, I'd take him."
