Tom Brady's Trainer Alex Guerrero Joins Raiders, Will Serve as 'Wellness Coordinator'

Adam WellsAug 29, 2025

Tom Brady has brought his longtime trainer, Alex Guerrero, on board for a role with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Per The Athletic's Tashan Reed, Guerrero was hired by the Raiders during the offseason with the official title of "wellness coordinator."

Guerrero began working as Brady's body coach in 2005. He eventually came to work with several members of the New England Patriots over the years, including Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

"I was fortunate and blessed to work with Tom Brady for so many years. And just through the years, we've always talked about if we ever had the opportunity to kind of do it at the team level, that we would love to do that," Guerrero told Reed in a about his new job. "It was offered to me to be able to do what I've been doing for the last 30-plus years, and to be able to bring it and do some of it here at the Raiders."

The partnership between Guerrero and Brady evolved to the point where they turned the TB12 Method into a business that included a book about Brady's diet and training regimen. Their business relationship reportedly ended in 2023 due in part to financial issues with TB12, but the pair have remained on friendly terms.

Guerrero's methods have been the subject of controversy over the years. He was sanctioned by the FTC for, among other things, claiming his products and methods could cure cancer and concussions.

Speaking to Reed about his role with the Raiders, Guerrero said he's "just sharing with them some of the philosophies that worked for Tom and I over the years" rather than trying to completely overhaul what the training and medical staff are doing.

Per Reed, Raiders owner Mark Davis, general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll all signed off on Guerrero's hiring.

Reed also noted Guerrero's "primary focus" will be helping the Raiders limit "non-contact, soft tissue injuries."

Brady purchased a 10 percent ownership stake in the Raiders that NFL owners unanimously approved last October.
