Micah Parsons Posts Video of Him Helping His Mom Retire After $188M Packers Contract

Scott PolacekAug 29, 2025

The Green Bay Packers weren't the only winners from Thursday's Micah Parsons trade.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Packers gave Parsons a four-year, $188 million extension, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history after acquiring him from the Dallas Cowboys, which figures to create a number of opportunities for the pass-rusher.

And he wasted no time jumping on one of those opportunities by making sure his mother can retire comfortably:

It was surely an emotional moment for Parsons after he was under the spotlight throughout the offseason because of his contract stalemate with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

Dallas ultimately decided to trade him instead of giving him the type of deal that Green Bay did, although it didn't come away empty-handed. The Packers sent a 2026 first-round pick, 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Keny Clark to the NFC East team in return.

While Clark is a solid player, he is no Parsons.

The Penn State product is on the short list of the best players in the entire league and will anchor a Green Bay pass-rush that was already eighth in the league in sacks last season. It is now Super Bowl or bust for the Packers following Thursday's move, and they paid Parsons like the elite difference-maker he can be when on the field.
