Micah Parsons Favored for NFL DPOY in Updated Betting Odds After Packers-Cowboys Trade
Micah Parsons is the favorite to earn some serious hardware after he was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.
The star pass-rusher has the best odds to win Defensive Player of the Year at +600 following the swap, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson owns the second-best odds at +750, while Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett sits at No. 3 with +850 odds.
The Cowboys dealt Parsons to Green Bay in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Packers also handed the 26-year-old a hefty four-year, $188 million contract following the change of scenery (via Schefter). The deal contains $120 million guaranteed at signing.
As for Parsons' outlook, he's already come close to winning Defensive Player of the Year several times.
He finished No. 2 in voting for the award in the 2021 season as well as his 2022 campaign. Parsons also ended up with the third-most Defensive Player of the Year votes in 2023.
While the four-time Pro Bowler finished outside the top 10 for his 2024 efforts, it's worth noting that he missed four games as he dealt with an ankle injury. Dallas was also plagued by health issues throughout the year, culminating in a disappointing 7-10 finish.
Parsons could put together a resurgent 2025 campaign if he stays healthy, as he's recorded at least 12 sacks in every season of his career and is joining a Packers squad that has made the playoffs in each of the past two years.
He should also provide a boost to a Green Bay defensive front that ranked No. 26 in pass-rush win rate last season despite sitting at No. 8 in the NFL with 45 sacks, via ESPN.
Parsons owned the No. 3 pass-rush win rate among edge-rushers at 23 percent in 2024.
Assuming the Packers remain a playoff contender in the NFC and Parsons continues to perform at an elite level, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him finally secure the top individual defensive honor in the league.
