Travis Kelce Hypes Shedeur Sanders, Says He'd 'Love' to See QB Start for Browns
While Shedeur Sanders was named the No. 3 quarterback for the Cleveland Browns behind veteran starter Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, he still has fans around the NFL.
Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce advocated for Sanders to be the Browns' starting quarterback during this week's episode of the New Heights podcast.
"Put him in coach! Give the people what they want," Kelce said (1:18:50 mark). "The world wants to see him go out there and not only play, but have success. At this point, guys are rooting for him. This isn't anything against Dillon; this isn't anything against Joe. I'm just saying the excitement is there for him to go out there. He's going to put eyes on the screen, he's going to bring people to the game. It is what it is. I would love to f--king see it, man, I would love to f--king see it."

Rap Shuts Down Rodgers Rumor
Sanders showed his potential with an impressive outing in Cleveland's preseason opener, but he struggled in this past weekend's finale after returning from an oblique injury. The Browns are clearly taking their time with their development of the 2025 fifth-round pick, but Kelce said he's seen enough to feel Sanders deserves a chance to be under center right away.
"They are doing probably the right thing, but I want to see 12 go out there and sling it," Kelce said. "It's the most exciting, it's the attention. I think he's shown he can be an NFL quarterback in the preseason, I think he's done a good job since he's been in there. If I'm evaluating, I'm like, yeah, he can play in the NFL."
For now, Sanders will have to focus on learning behind Flacco as he competes with Gabriel for playing time. The Browns will open the 2025 season on Sept. 7 against the AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals.
