Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift announced their engagement on Tuesday with a series of photos on Instagram.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Swift wrote in her caption.

Kelce and Swift began dating two years ago and immediately became one of the biggest celebrity couples in the world. The 14-time Grammy Award winner frequently attended Chiefs games in support of Kelce, and she was on the field as the team celebrated its victory in Super Bowl LVIII.

Kelce is entering his 13th year in the NFL, and the 10-time Pro Bowler admitted earlier this summer that he hasn't played up to his standards over the past two years while pursuing an acting career and other endeavors off the field.

"I think it might have slipped a little bit because I did have a little bit more focus in trying to set myself up. And opportunities came up where I was excited to venture into a new world of acting and being an entertainer," Kelce told Sean Manning of GQ. "I don't say this as 'I shouldn't have done it.' I'm just saying that my work ethic is such that I have so much pride in how I do things that I never want the product to tail off, and I feel like these past two years haven't been to my standard."

Following his engagement to Swift, Kelce can now focus on trying to add another Super Bowl ring to his mantle as his stellar NFL career winds down.
