Rasul Douglas Reportedly Signs Dolphins Contract in NFL FA Ahead of 2025 Season
In desperate need of help at cornerback before the start of the regular season, the Miami Dolphins are adding Rasul Douglas to their roster.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Douglas will sign a one-year, $3 million deal with the Dolphins.
The secondary is a huge concern for the Dolphins right now. They spent a lot of the offseason trying to piece that unit together, but the results at this point haven't been encouraging.

NFL's Most Exciting Camp Battles ⚔️
Mike Hilton, who signed with Miami on July 26, seemed like he would be the starting nickel at one point. Fifth-round rookie Jason Marshall's rise throughout training camp and preseason that Hilton was released on Monday.
Ethan Bonner's status for the start of the regular season is unclear after he suffered a hamstring injury in Miami's second preseason game against the Detroit Lions on Aug. 16.
The projected starters at cornerback for Miami right now are Jack Jones and Storm Duck. Jones is playing for his fourth team in four NFL seasons. Duck appeared in 14 games (three starts) as an undrafted rookie in 2024.
A third-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, Douglas has appeared in 120 games over the past eight seasons. He tied his career-high with 15 starts for the Buffalo Bills in 2024.
Douglas had 14 interceptions over three seasons from 2021 to '23. Trevon Diggs of the Dallas Cowboys was the only cornerback with more picks during that span.
If the Dolphins get anything close to the ball-hawking version of Douglas in 2025, it will mark a great low-cost addition to their secondary at this late period of the summer.
Miami's success this season will largely depend on the offense being an elite unit in the way it was in 2022 and 2023, but any help from the defense can take some of the pressure away for a team that wants to get back to the playoffs after a disappointing 2024.
