Cadillac announced Tuesday that it signed Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas as its drivers for the manufacturer's debut Formula One season in 2026.

The signings were revealed in a video posted on Cadillac's X account, which featured popular actor Keanu Reeves:

Per Lawrence Barretto of F1's official website, Cadillac divulged that both Pérez and Bottas agreed to multi-year deals with the team.

Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon commented on the decision to sign a pair of 35-year-old veterans in Pérez and Bottas, saying:

"Signing two very experienced racers like Bottas and Checo is a bold signal of intent. They've seen it all and they know what it takes to succeed in Formula One. But more importantly, they understand what it means to help build a team.

"Their leadership, feedback, race-hardened instincts and of course their speed will be invaluable as we bring this team to life. A big thank you to the team at Mercedes for their cooperation and understanding."

After four seasons with Red Bull, Pérez parted ways with the team at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign and decided to take the 2025 season off.

Pérez failed to win a race and finished eighth in the points standings in 2024, but his first three years with Red Bull were far more fruitful, as he won five total races and recorded finishes of fourth, third and second in the standings.

The Mexican driver played a big role in Red Bull winning the constructors' championship in 2022 and 2023 as well.

All told, Pérez has made 281 career F1 starts, winning six races and earning 39 podiums with Sauber, McLaren, Force India/Racing Point and Red Bull.

Like Pérez, Bottas also hasn't run an F1 race this season, as he has served in a reserve role with Mercedes following his departure from Kick Sauber.

Bottas has enjoyed a highly successful career in his own right with 10 wins and 67 podiums over 246 starts.

All of his victories came during a five-year stint with Mercedes from 2017 to 2021. Behind Lewis Hamilton and Bottas, Mercedes won the constructors' championship every year during that stretch.

Much like Pérez played second fiddle to Max Verstappen at Red Bull, Bottas was the No. 2 driver behind Hamilton at Mercedes, but he still thrived individually with five consecutive top-five finishes in the points standings, including back-to-back second-place finishes in 2019 and 2020.

The Finnish driver's performance dipped significantly with Alfa Romeo in 2022 and 2023, and Kick Sauber last season, but with better equipment and support, he has a chance to be competitive again with Cadillac.

Backed by General Motors, Cadillac is the first new constructor to join F1 since Haas in 2016, and it marks the 11th different F1 team.
