Shedeur Sanders Says He Has 'A Lot to Learn' After Browns Preseason in IG Photo

Zach BacharAug 24, 2025

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders reflected on his preseason experience with the team in an Instagram post on Sunday.

Sanders wrote that there was "a lot to learn from this preseason," but was also "really thankful for the opportunity to be out there" in the caption of the photo.

He appeared in two preseason contests with Cleveland, finishing 17-of-29 for 152 yards and two touchdowns without tossing an interception.

While his overall production was impressive for a fifth-round draft pick, his performances fluctuated during his pair of preseason games.

Sanders looked sharp in his debut with the Browns, completing 60.9 percent of his throws for 138 yards and two scores during a 30-10 win over the Carolina Panthers on Aug. 8.

He missed Cleveland's ensuing game with an oblique injury before appearing in the second half of the team's 19-17 victory against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.

Sanders finished 3-of-6 for a mere 14 yards, as the Browns were forced to punt on all five drives with him on the field. He was also sacked five times for 41 yards.

Tyler Huntley replaced the first-year passer on the final drive of the game, leading Cleveland down the field for a game-winning field goal.

Sanders reportedly isn't in danger of being cut by the Browns as he heads into the 2025 regular season, but it could be awhile before he receives extended playing time.

Veteran Joe Flacco was already named Cleveland's Week 1 starter, while Sanders was listed at No. 4 on the team's latest unofficial depth chart behind Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.

Still, the former Colorado standout is focused on continuing to get better across his inaugural NFL season.
