Ryback Injury: Updates on WWE Star's Knee and Return
Ryback was absent from WWE programming for almost a month after suffering a staph infection on July 13, slowing his momentum after winning the Intercontinental championship.
He would return to action on Raw during the Aug. 10 episode of the show and wasted no time in confronting The Miz. WWE provided a GIF of The Big Guy returning to the ring in style:

The injury kept Ryback out of the Battleground pay-per-view. Ryback explained what happened in a series of tweets on July 15:
"After Raw Monday, I woke up Tuesday morning before some media appearances with a severe staph infection in my right knee. I was brought to a hospital and put on strong antibiotics and had 90 cc of fluid drained out of knee in a 24-hour period. We caught it in time thanks to the great WWE medical team and I will make a full recovery. Will be kept in the hospital for several days and I will not be able to defend my Intercontinental Championship this Sunday. I am sorry to all my fans and the WWE. I will be back shortly, but I have to get this corrected.
"
With Ryback back in the fold, look for him to continue his feud with The Miz and Big Show on the road to SummerSlam.
