Shilo Sanders' Top NFL Landing Spots After Being Waived by Bucs amid Roster Cuts
Shilo Sanders' NFL journey now includes an unplanned foray into free agency ahead of the 2025 season.
His agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are waiving him ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET roster deadline.
Given his age (25) and the fact he went undrafted this spring, Sanders probably can't afford to be too picky about his next stop. He may have to settle for a practice squad role.
With that in mind, these three teams make sense as suitors.

The writing was on the wall for Sanders following Tampa Bay's preseason finale. He was ejected in the second quarter of a 23-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills for throwing a punch at Bills tight end Zach Davidson.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles called it "inexcusable."
Still, the franchise originally saw something in Sanders to sign him in the first place and give him a shot at making the roster. It sounded as though he was making a positive impact in training camp as well.
Staying in Tampa and signing with the practice squad is arguably the most sensible course of action if the Buccaneers are leaving a door open for him.

During Colorado's pro day in April, Sanders had a moment with Kelvin Fisher, a West Coast scout for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh traded star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick back to the Miami Dolphins in June. The team turned around and signed Chuck Clark a month later, having already added Juan Thornhill and undrafted free agent Sebastian Castro.
Perhaps head coach Mike Tomlin is willing to give Sanders a shot in the hope of finding a young, long-term solution at the safety position.

What better place is there for Sanders to find his footing than a Super Bowl-winning defense led by Vic Fangio?
Last offseason, Fangio astutely identified how Zack Baun would be an effective inside linebacker. After four nondescript seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Baun was a Pro Bowler and All-Pro in Philly.
Even though there's little chance Sanders would immediately walk onto one of the NFL's best defenses, working out with the unit in practice would be big toward his development.
