It took a bit but eventually Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears offense showed what they could do.
The Bears started the 2024 No. 1 pick in their final preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. For those hoping for fireworks, they did not get what they were looking for initially. However, a promising two-minute drill changed the outlook a bit.

Williams finished his day 11-of-15 for 115 yards yards and a touchdown after playing the entirety of the first half. It came after two lackluster drives but he at least put a bow on his preseason.
Following his exit, fans took to social media to praise Williams on his gritty finish.
Williams threw for 3,541 yards with 20 touchdowns and six interceptions in his rookie season but the Bears struggled to a 5-12 record. While he flashed promise, the expectations were not necessarily meant after a stellar career at USC.
While it was rough at times Friday night, Williams' ability to rebound and finish strong should be a positive for him as he prepares to bear the load of running the offense under first-year head coach Ben Johnson.
