Jaxson Dart Eyed by Fans as Giants' QB1 over Russell Wilson Amid Effort vs. Patriots

Giants fans received plenty of reasons to be excited about the future, and maybe even the present, of the quarterback position on Thursday night.

Jaxson Dart led the Giants to a touchdown on the team's first drive against the New England Patriots.

It continued an impressive preseason for the rookie first-round pick:

That led to not just praise, but calls for Dart to take over as the Giants' starting quarterback ahead of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

Dart went 6-for-12 with 81 yards and he had a 23-yard scramble. He shined on the opening drive with 57 passing yards.

Dart's numbers would have looked even better if a few passes were caught by Jalin Hyatt.

Dart's scramble put the Giants in a great position to score again, but he did not complete the drive because he was being checked out in the medical tent. Dart was cleared from concussion protocol.

Dart will start the season behind Wilson and Winston on the depth chart, but it's hard not to excited about what he could look like in regular-season play based on his preseason finale.
