Red Sox Icon Jason Varitek Sets Team's Fantasy Football Draft with BP Session on Video
Boston Red Sox players came up with a novel way to set the draft order in their internal fantasy football league.
Two-time World Series winner Jason Varitek, who works on Boston's staff, took some batting practice Tuesday. Each of the Red Sox representatives had their team name written on a baseball, and the order was based on how far Varitek's hits went.

MLB Report Card Grades for 30 Highest-Paid Players
According to Christopher Smith of MassLive.com, relief pitcher Greg Weissert had the misfortune of watching the retired catcher hit his ball off the cage. Suffice to say, the right-hander will be picking last in the first round.
It's unclear who earned the right to pick first.
Varitek spent his entire 15-year playing career with the Red Sox. A three-time All-Star, he made more appearances at catcher (1,488) than any other player in franchise history.
The 53-year-old retired after the 2011 season and wasted little time transitioning to a front-office role. He became a special assistant to then-general manager Ben Cherington in September 2012.
Varitek joined Alex Cora's coaching staff as the game planning coordinator in November 2020.
