Clint Frazier Says Yankees Won't Win World Series If Analytics Lead to 'Dumbass S--t'

Former New York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier thinks the Yankees' World Series hopes are doomed unless they change their approach.

Frazierโ€”who was once a top prospect in the Yankees' organizationโ€”said that New York relies too much on analytics, and it leads to major changes when the calendar flips from the regular season to the postseason.

โ€œThey will not win the World Series if this fโ€“king analytical car is driving it. They wonโ€™t,โ€ Frazier said on his Life After The Show podcast (24:50 mark).

โ€œAnd the reason that they wonโ€™t win it is because they do dumbass sโ€“t that they didnโ€™t do during the regular season because they get cute and they want to make a crazy move.โ€

Analytics can be a helpful tool in baseball as teams evaluate what they can be doing better as well as scouting other teams, but relying too much on the numbers might complicate things, especially for a team with as much talent as the Yankees.

New York is in a position to make the postseason, sitting at 67-57 and holding the top wild card spot in the American League. Whether the Bronx Bombers will listen to Frazier's advice in the postseason remains to be seen.
