Scottie Scheffler Wins BMW Championship, Wows LeBron, Mahomes, Fans With Chip Shot
Scottie Scheffler has added another trophy to his rapidly growing trophy case.
Despite entering the final round down by four strokes, the 29-year-old shot a 67 and secured the victory at the 2025 BMW Championship.
Scheffler shot six birdies on the day, including a chip-in from the rough on the 17th hole.
Fans, including Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, took to social media to congratulate Scheffler on his accomplishment and project his chance to repeat as the FedEx Cup Championship.
Scheffler was already the leader in the FedEx Cup Standings and will start the Tour Championship with a score of 10-under. He is notably the defending champion of the event.
Robert MacIntyre entered the day with the lead but a 73 pushed him back to second place. He still moved up to 15th in the FedEx Cup Standings with his second place finish.
Maverick McNealy shot a 66 and moved to third place at 11-under while Tommy Fleetwood and Sam Burns tied for fourth place at 10-under.
The Tour Championship is the only remaining event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Some notables who failed to qualify include Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele and Rickie Fowler.
