Things got chippy between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev ahead of their fight at UFC 319 on Saturday.

Chimaev is challenging du Plessis for the UFC middleweight title, and he made it clear what he plans to do during Saturday's fight.
"Just gonna go f--k this boy up," Chimaev said. "He has only one day left."
While du Plessis recognized that Chimaev is a tough opponent, he said he plans to have his way against him on Saturday.
"He's an absolute beast of an opponent, but I can tell you this, I'm putting that man to sleep," du Plessis said. "Whether it be on the ground, whether I'm knocking him out, I'm taking out your boy, and all of you will be cheering."
Coming into the fight, du Plessis has won 11 consecutive fights. He won the middleweight title against Sean Strickland in January 2024 and defended it against Israel Adesanya last August before defending it again against Strickland in February.
Now, he'll look to take down Chimaev and once against hold on to his title.
He has a worthy opponent in Chimaev, though. Chimaev comes into the fight with an undefeated record, most recently taking down Robert Whittaker via submission at UFC 308 in October 2024. While Chimaev has found success throughout his career, he's still looking for his first UFC title, and he can claim it from du Plessis on Saturday.
