Liv Morgan's WWE Return Date Reportedly Set for 2026 Amid Shoulder Injury Rehab

WWE is reportedly aiming for two-time women's world champion Liv Morgan to be back in action by early 2026.

According to PWInsider Elite (h/t WrestlingInc.com's Ella Jay), WWE officials are "hopeful" Morgan will be able to return at the start next year as long as all goes well with her recovery from a shoulder injury.

PWInsider added that Morgan was reportedly scheduled for an updated medical evaluation as of this week.

Morgan, 31, has not been seen on WWE programming since the June 16 episode of Raw when she got injured during a match against Kairi Sane.

A couple of weeks later, Kevin Wilk of Champion Sports Medicine in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, posted a photo of himself with Morgan on Instagram, and it was indicated that he was helping Morgan with her rehab after undergoing shoulder surgery.

While no official timeline for Morgan's return has been provided by WWE, announcers said on Raw the week after she got injured that she was expected to be out for "several months."

At the time of her injury, Morgan was one half of the WWE women's tag team champions along with her Judgment Day stablemate Raquel Rodriguez.

During Liv's absence, Roxanne Perez stepped up as Raquel's new partner, and while they had some success as a duo, they dropped the titles to Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam earlier this month.

Perez was trying to ingratiate herself to The Judgment Day before Morgan got injured, and while Liv has been out, Roxanne has been cozying up to Dominik Mysterio, who is Morgan's on-screen love interest.

That means there is a built-in storyline in place for Morgan once she returns, and it could result in her being a babyface despite the fact that she was a heel when she got injured.

If Liv is indeed back by the start of 2026, it would be perfect timing in terms of allowing her to be an entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match.

Royal Rumble is also the unofficial start of the road to WrestleMania, and being back for that would allow the creative team to factor Morgan into some huge plans for the Showcase of the Immortals.
