Arturo Vidal Officially Completes Transfer to Bayern Munich from Juventus
Arturo Vidal has joined Bayern Munich on a four-year deal, as confirmed by the German champions' official website.
The move brings an end to a successful four seasons at Juventus for the Chile international.
However, Vidal could not resist the chance to join Bayern and he said:
"I wanted to take another big step forward in my career.
I want to keep developing as a player and win important trophies like the Champions League. I think the best opportunity to do so is with Bayern.
"
Juventus aren't short of quality midfielders, with Paul Pogba, Claudio Marchisio, Roberto Pereyra and new signing Sami Khedira giving manager Massimiliano Allegri an embarrassment of riches in the middle.
But few midfielders in world football offer the complete range of skills Vidal boasts. He's a tireless runner, a tough tackler and a useful attacking threat. The Chile star does seem like a strange fit for Bayern, though, as boss Pep Guardiola uses a tiki-taka passing game.
Juve must be confident about keeping Pogba after allowing Vidal to leave. The young French star is wanted by the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City, according to Anthony Jepson of the Manchester Evening News.
Vidal's to Germany, where he once shone for Bayer Leverkusen, sees Bayern strengthened in a key area. The signing could help Guardiola finally crack the Champions League with the Bavarian club, but he'll have to align himself to his new manager's way of thinking.
