Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris, who is working his way back from a superficial eye injury caused by a fireworks mishap during a Fourth of July event, reportedly did more work on Wednesday, his second day back at practice.
Bridget Condon of NFL Network provided more details.

"It's good news that Najee Harris was out there today for the second day in a row doing more than, as you mentioned, just walking. He was running again today, and he was doing more than we've seen him do and running, I'm told, faster than we've seen him run at all this training camp since he got injured back on July 4.
"He was doing a lot of agility work. He was pushing a sled at one point, and then after, I would say he probably worked out for about an hour of practice, and then when he was done, he walked over to the practice field where the team was and stayed there with a weighted vest on and a football in hand."
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh previously told reporters there's a chance Harris could be back in time for the start of the regular season (Sept. 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil).
Harris played his first four NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before signing with the Chargers in free agency this offseason on a fully guaranteed one-year, $5.25 million contract.
The 27-year-old Harris, who was selected No. 27 overall in the 2021 NFL draft out of Alabama, has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in all four of his seasons. Last year, Harris amassed 1,326 total yards and six touchdowns.
Harris has started all 71 of his games played (including playoffs) during his career. He's been incredibly durable and reliable during his time in the NFL.
The Chargers brought him to a re-made backfield that also includes another back taken in the first round, rookie Omarion Hampton out of UNC. Hampton and Harris are in line to lead the way, although the former is RB1 right now as Harris works his way back into the mix.
Hopefully Harris is good to go soon. Thankfully, he does have some time before the start of the regular season, and him being at practice and doing more work is a good sign toward that potentially happening.
