Shedeur Sanders Day-to-Day with Oblique Injury, Unlikely to Play in Browns vs. Eagles
Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique injury early in Wednesday's practice and was held out for the rest of the session, the team announced.
Sanders was officially diagnosed with an oblique strain that will have him listed day-to-day moving forward. He is "unlikely" to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team said.
Sanders made his Browns debut in last Friday's preseason opener. He was the only signal caller out of the team's five quarterbacks who did not participate in team drills on Wednesday, according to ESPN Cleveland.

Despite not participating in team drills, Sanders was one of the "last players still on the field" on Friday, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Garafolo shared an image of him speaking with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts on the sideline:
Cabot noted that Gabriel spit the 11-on-11 reps with Joe Flacco, "but only got a few starting reps" while beginning to make his return from a hamstring injury.
Pickett, who Cabot described as "still nursing" his own hamstring issue, was limited in Wednesday's practice and made just six pass attempts.
Stefanski had confirmed to reporters ahead of Wednesday's joint practice with the Eagles that Sanders would start on Saturday if Gabriel and Pickett were unable to play.
Sanders played most of his preseason debut with Gabriel and Pickett injured. He went 14-for-23 for 138 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions against the Carolina Panthers before Tyler Huntley came in to finish out the game.
Stefanski said Wednesday that he would "potentially" like to see Gabriel start on Saturday if the quarterback is healthy.
"The plan was always to give both of those guys a start in the preseason," Stefanski said about Sanders and Gabriel. "So, we'll see how it shakes out."
If Gabriel, Sanders and Pickett are all sidelined on Saturday, the Browns could either give the start to Huntley or give Flacco some preseason playing time ahead of his age-40 campaign.
The Browns will hope to get at least some of the team's quarterbacks back to full health before the franchise makes its decision as to which signal callers will remain on the roster past the Aug. 27 cutdown deadline.
