Isaac TeSlaa Reportedly Hyped by Lions, Earning Role amid Fantasy Football Projections

Andrew PetersAug 11, 2025

There are a handful of rookie wide receivers who stand out heading into the 2025 NFL season, but there are also plenty of sleepers when it comes to fantasy football production.

One possible sleeper might be Detroit Lions' rookie receive Isaac TeSlaa.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, "TeSlaa has been turning heads in camp and is working his way into a role within the offense." According to Schultz, the Lions love TeSlaa's "all-out effort every snap, his strong hands/ability at the catch-point, and the way his blocking in the run game stands out."

TeSlaa wasn't one of the big names in this year's draft class after recording 546 receiving yards and three touchdowns at Arkansas last season, but Detroit was clearly high on him, trading up to select him with the 70th overall pick.

While it's a small sample size, TeSlaa looked great in his first preseason game, recording four receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.

The Lions struck gold when they drafted Amon-Ra St. Brown in the fourth round in 2021, and they're hoping to have similar success with TeSlaa.

While TeSlaa shouldn't be an early pick in fantasy drafts, he could be worth grabbing in a later round. With St. Brown and Jameson Williams getting most of the targets, TeSlaa likely won't put up WR1 numbers, but he could end up having some solid trade value later on this season if he pans out the way the Lions expect him to.
