NFL Coach Doesn't See Packers' Jordan Love 'F--king People Up' During Games

Zach BacharAug 11, 2025

Jordan Love's importance within the Green Bay Packers' offense was questioned heading into the 2025 season.

"When we faced him last year, I felt like if you could get to him, you could rattle him," an NFL defensive coach told Mike Sando of The Athletic. "He distributes the ball, and they have big skill (players who are) tough to bring down. That is how he makes his hay. I do not watch him and think, 'Oh, he is f--king people up.'"

Still, Love's ability to launch the ball downfield and test opposing secondaries left a strong impression.

"When we played them, I was like, 'Man, this ball is going downfield — he don't give a s--t,'" another defensive coach said, via Sando. "You don't see a lot of quarterbacks play like that these days. It's almost like they build it into their offense and see the benefits of making you defend the whole field and hitting a couple in exchange for a pick or two."

"It was interesting playing him. I came away thinking there is something different about this kid," the coach added.

Love wrapped up his second season as a full-time starter in 2024, although he wasn't tasked with throwing as often compared to his 2023 campaign.

He ended up completing 63.1 percent of his passes for 3,389 yards and 25 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions across 15 games. It's worth noting that Love missed two of Green Bay's first three weeks of the regular season due to a knee injury.

His production didn't appear to drastically drop off when under fire, though. During the four games in which he was sacked multiple times in 2024, he threw for 792 yards and eight touchdowns while getting picked off three times.

The Packers owned a 3-1 record in those games.
