Giants GM Praises Jaxson Dart, Abdul Carter for Strong Preseason Debuts vs. Bills
New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen was pleased with the preseason debuts of quarterback Jaxson Dart and edge-rusher Abdul Carter on Saturday afternoon at the Buffalo Bills.
The Giants selected Carter with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft before trading up from the second round into the back end of the first round to choose Dart at No. 25 overall.
Carter only played six snaps, but he made an impact in limited action.
He even did great work against Bills left tackle and four-time Pro Bowler Dion Dawkins:
Dart saw far more action, taking over for starter Russell Wilson after he led the Giants to a field goal on their first drive. The ex-Ole Miss star completed 12-of-19 passes for 154 yards (8.1 yards per attempt) and one touchdown while finishing out the first half (Jameis Winston took over after halftime). Dart also ran three times for 24 yards, including a 19-yard scramble.
That score was a sharp 28-yarder down the sideline to Lil'Jordan Humphrey to put New York up 9-0 early in the second quarter.
The Giants couldn't have asked for much more from that duo. They should be back in action Saturday when they play the New York Jets in a preseason matchup.
