Is This Malik Nabers' Breakout Season?
3 of 3.jpg)
A year ago, Malik Nabers entered the league with lofty expectations given that he was drafted No. 6 overall in the NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He finished the year with 1204 yards and seven touchdowns, giving fans in the Big Apple a taste of what they could expect from their dynamic new receiver.
They should expect even more out of him in his sophomore season in the league.
Nabers accomplished what he did a season ago with the quarterback roster from hell, made up of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Tony DeVito, and Tim Boyle. Injuries and subpar play plagued that group and limited what Nabers could realistically accomplish for a bad Giants team.
While Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and rookie Jaxson Dart may not inspire confidence from some fans, it is a vastly improved quarterback room and one that should complement the budding star's abilities.
There are still questions about the weapons around him. Whether teams will be able to double him up and take away the passing game remains to be seen, but Nabers proved capable of beating double coverage late in the season to continue his impressive first outing.
Already considered a top 10 pick at his position in many mock drafts, Nabers has the potential be a top 10 player at any position based on improvement in his own game and a far better QB room than the one he entered the league to.
