Patrick Mahomes Says He'll Rejoin Madden 99 Club 'Pretty Quickly' If Chiefs Play Well
Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is confident that he can raise his Madden NFL 26 player rating to 99 overall once again.
"I like playing Madden, so I would like to be rated higher," Mahomes said, per ESPN's Nate Taylor. "But I've got to play and showcase that stuff on the field. I believe that if I go out there and play the football I want to play, we can get to 99 pretty quickly."
The six-time Pro Bowl quarterback was rated at 95 overall in the latest video game, which represented a drop after he owned a 99 rating in each of the prior four editions of the game at release.

Mahomes was also the cover athlete for Madden NFL 20 and the co-cover athlete for Madden NFL 22 alongside Tom Brady.
Seven players make up the 99 Club in the newest game including Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Buffalo Bills passer Josh Allen, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson.
Bengals signal-caller Joe Burrow was rated 97 overall as well, meaning that Mahomes owns the fourth-highest rating among quarterbacks in Madden NFL 26.
While the Chiefs are coming off their fifth Super Bowl appearance in the past six years, their production from under center didn't match past seasons.
Mahomes recorded a career-low 245.5 passing yards per game in 2024, while his 26 touchdown passes were tied for the fewest he's compiled in a single season as a full-time starter. He also averaged just 6.8 yards per attempt.
Madden NFL 26 will release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 on Aug. 14.
