Thursday Schedule, TV Info, and Predictions

3 of 3

Southwest Region vs. Mid-Atlantic Region (1:00 p.m., ESPN) (Prediction: Mid-Atlantic)

North Carolina Region vs. Asia-Pacific Region (5:00 p.m., ESPN) (Prediction: North Carolina)

The West Suburban team from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is in its first appearance in the Little League World Series and is spending its debut sending a loud and clear message: they are a legitimate contender to win the entire tournament.

The team has outscored opponents 11-1 in two games and will look to advance to the finals of the Purple Bracket with a win over a team from Tulsa, Oklahoma that has played just one game to date, a 2-1 victory over the Southeast Region's Lake Mary, Florida team.

Home state heroes, the Pitt County Girls, will move one step closer to a successful defense of their 2024 title if they can advance past the Asia-Pacific representative from Iwate, Japan.

The North Carolina team has allowed three runs in each of its first two victories while scoring nine of their own. In their lone performance to date, the Iwate squad scored six runs while allowing one.

Something has to give Thursday and, while the Pitt County Girls are as good a bet to repeat as any team is to unseat them, they may face their toughest test of the tournament in the Orange Bracket semifinal.
