NHL 26 Drops Gameplay Trailer and Matthew, Brady, Keith Tkachuk Deluxe Edition Cover

NHL 26 is a family affair.

EA Sports announced Wednesday that Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk and Ottawa Senators star Brady Tkachuk will be on the cover of the upcoming game's deluxe edition. What's more, they will be joined by their father and former NHL player Keith Tkachuk.

That wasn't all the company revealed Wednesday, as it also released the trailer that featured some of the gameplay fans can expect with the latest edition of the game that will launch on Sept. 12:

Matthew Tkachuk will also grace the standard cover, which comes as anything but a surprise. After all, the two-time All-Star is coming off a second straight Stanley Cup title with the Panthers and was unstoppable during the team's playoff run.

He finished with 23 points (15 assists and eight goals), five power play goals and a plus-minus mark of plus-seven in 23 postseason games just one year after he tallied 22 points in 24 postseason games for the 2023-24 champions.

The 27-year-old is one of the faces of the NHL after lifting the Stanley Cup for a second straight year, and gracing the cover of the game alongside his family members further underscores that status.

Tkachuk is the second Panthers player to be on the cover of the video game and the first since goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck appeared on NHL 97.

He isn't alone, though, as Brady Tkachuk is also on the cover of the deluxe edition after helping lead the Senators to the playoffs with 55 points (29 goals and 26 assists) during the regular season.

The brothers also teamed up this past season and represented the United States in the 4 Nations Face-Off, which gave their father an opportunity to cheer for them on the same team for the first time in their professional careers.

"They're two years apart, so they've never really played before together, and when we heard this [tournament was happening], we were so pumped up," Keith Tkachuk said, per ESPN's Kristen Shilton. "They're living their dreams. We just pinch ourselves how lucky we are to be able to watch them play in this. It's the best feeling in the world."

The Americans ended up finishing in second place with a loss to Canada, but a rematch could be in store for the 2026 Olympics.

Keith Tkachuk will surely be ready to play the role of supportive father if the brothers are once again representing the United States, but his presence on the cover of NHL 26 is a way of reminding younger fans that he too played in the league.

The five-time All-Star suited up for the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues and Atlanta Thrashers from 1991-92 through 2009-10 as a dangerous scorer who helped anchor multiple front lines.

He finished his career with 1,065 points on 538 goals and 527 assists while surpassing the 70-point mark in six different seasons.

And now he can add video game cover star to his list of accomplishments.
