Roman Reigns Gets Revenge on Seth Rollins

For years, Seth Rollins has been the one wrestler capable of shattering Roman Reigns' otherwise cool, calm, and collected demeanor. His ability to do so dates back to 2014 and the destruction of The Shield, when The Architect betrayed his friends in the name of his own, personal success.

Since then, Rollins has continued to antagonize Reigns, drawing a disqualification win in their 2022 Royal Rumble match-up and assisting Cody Rhodes in victory over The Tribal Chief in the main event of WrestleMania 40.

This year at the Showcase of the Immortals, Rollins stole his former teammate's "Wise Man," Paul Heyman, and made him the Oracle of his vision for the future.

Reigns got a measure of revenge at SummerSlam, partnering with Jey Uso to defeat Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker in an electric tag team match, but the big payoff to the story is that elusive one-on-one showdown with The Visionary on the grand stage.

After a decade of avoiding it, Reigns and Rollins do battle with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line, which was made possible by the latter's Money in the Bank cash-in on CM Punk Saturday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Legacy: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton is 15 Years in the Making

When Cody Rhodes arrived on the scene in WWE, his first match was against Randy Orton. From there, the second-generation star was one-third of Legacy, a group designed to focus on the sons of famous wrestling fathers, led by Orton as he mentored Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.

Rhodes learned from The Viper, studied him, and eventually broke away from him. Along the line, they clashed and upon Rhodes' return, even teamed up. Yet, despite their rich history, they have yet to cross one another.

Expect that to change.

Orton's greatest opponent at this point in his career is Father Time. He is not getting any younger and he clearly has championship aspirations. To enjoy one last run with the top prize in the company, he has to go through the man he helped elevate, The American Nightmare.

A heel turn sometime late in 2025, or early in 2026, should set the stage for the showdown that fans have eagerly anticipated since Rhodes walked back into WWE at WrestleMania 38.
