The 2025 Little League Softball World Series continues Monday in Greenville, North Carolina, with tournament favorites and home state squad Pitt County Girls Softball Little League looking to make it 2-0 after a thrilling come-from-behind win Sunday.

They are not the only team in action Monday as teams from the Asia-Pacific and Canada regions also take to the field, among others.

Sunday saw a battle of two first-time attendees of the Little League Softball World Series as West Suburban Little League out of Johnstown, Pennsylvania battled Guillford Little League out of Connecticut.

The Pennsylvania squad earned a 2-1 victory and advanced to the next round, where they will meet the Westchester Del-Rey Little League squad out of Los Angeles in what might be the wake-up call for the Mid-Atlantic Region representative.

Speaking of wake-up calls, any expectation that home state squad Pitt County Girls Little League would roll through the tournament and back to the finals, where they hope to defend their title from last year, was met with resistance in round one as the favorites were tested by the Cantareira squad out of Brazil.

Pitt County battled back to take the lead and eventually win their game 4-3, a far cry from the run-scoring machine that dominated and advanced through the field and to the finals a year ago.

They will look to get back to dominating with their explosive offense in round two against Floyds Knobs Community Club Little League out of Indiana. One should expect a different outcome.
