Cameron Young Wins Wyndham Championship by 6 Shots, Wows Fans in 1st PGA Tour Victory

It was a good weekend for Cameron Young.

The 28-year-old secured a victory at the 2025 Wyndham Championship on Sunday after shooting a 68 at Sedgefield Country Club. This was Young's first victory on the PGA Tour.

Young entered the day with a five-stroke lead and had five birdies on the front nine to build a significant lead. He hit a few bogeys on the back nine but was able to maintain a comfortable lead.

He finished the tournament at minus-22, which set the tournament record. Mac Meissner finished second at minus-16 while Mark Hubbard and Alex Noren tied for third at minus-14.

Fans took to social media to praise Young for breaking through.

Young moved up to 16th in the FedEx Cup standings with the victory. He was previously in 40th place, so he now gains some ground in the quest to qualify for the Tour Championship.

He also is making a push for the U.S. Ryder Cup team. Young has never played in the Ryder Cup and would likely need to be a captains pick to make the team.

As he prepares for the rest of the PGA Tour season and a potential Ryder Cup run, Young will do so finally as a winner on the Tour.
