All-Star Jacob Misiorowski Placed on Brewers IL, Expected to Miss 2 Starts with Injury

Joseph ZuckerAug 3, 2025

The Milwaukee Brewers announced Sunday they placed star rookie Jacob Misiorowski on the 15-day injured list with a left tibia contusion.

The starting pitcher indicated he only expects to miss two starts, with his IL designation retroactive to July 31.

Misiorowski has been electric in the majors. Through 33.1 innings, he's 4-1 with 47 strikeouts and 10 earned runs allowed. His four-seam fastball has averaged 99.3 mph, while he boasts a 94.1 mph slider, per Baseball Savant.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred pointed to the buzz around the right-hander as one of the reasons for his All-Star nod. He replaced the Chicago Cubs' Matthew Boyd on the National League team.

Misiorowski's contusion came in Monday's 8-4 win over the Chicago Cubs. A liner from Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki hit him in the shin in the first inning. He stayed on to pitch four innings, surrendering two earned runs and striking out seven batters.

Given the nature of his injury, Misiorowski shouldn't miss a lot of time, and that's good news for the Brewers as they try to maintain their two-game lead on Chicago.

To fill out the rotation, Milwaukee called up Logan Henderson and will have him take the bump Sunday against the Washington Nationals. Bleacher Report's Joel Rueter ranked Henderson as the No. 6 prospect in the Brewers' farm system following the 2025 MLB draft.
