Fantasy Football 2025 Rookie Rankings, Top Team Names and League Names
The NFL is back, and it's bringing fantasy football right along with it.
That's maybe more technically true than accurate right now, since the NFL has only had the Hall of Fame Game so far, and fantasy footballers are probably mock drafting right now rather than doing the real thing. Still, football is back, baby.
There are a million and one reasons to get excited about that, but high up on that list is the official arrival of this year's rookie class. Fantasy drafters, particularly those in dynasty leagues, should be all over these freshmen, so we'll help dissect the class with a breakdown of our top 10 rookies, before closing with batches of fun team and league names.
Top 10 Rookie Rankings

1-Ashton Jeanty, RB, LV
The Raiders spent this year's No. 6 pick on Jeanty, and they might look to see an immediate return on that investment. He is an elite talent who does everything and should have complete control of this backfield. It's maybe impossible to overstate how great his best-case-scenario season would be.
2-Omarion Hampton, RB, LAC
The second running back off the board in April (and 22nd pick overall), Hampton should be in a fruitful fantasy environment. The Chargers should deploy him early and often, as his primary backfield competitor, Najee Harris, has no timetable for his return from a non-football eye injury suffered in early July.
3-Travis Hunter, WR, JAX
Hunter, a true two-way star, might be the NFL's busiest rookie, since he figures to serve as both a disruptive defensive back and a playmaking pass-catcher. Fantasy managers will only focus on that latter role, though, and it figures to be plenty potent given the Jaguars' need for more explosion in their offense.
4-Tetairoa McMillan, WR, CAR
Wide receiver wasn't Carolina's biggest need this offseason, but the Panthers still spent the No. 8 pick on McMillan. That shows a full belief in his abilities, which they're clearly hoping will make him Bryce Young's favorite target sooner than later.
5-TreVeyon Henderson, RB, NE
Henderson's path to playing time isn't quite as clear as the top two rookie running backs', as he could be in a two-headed-monster style setup with Rhamondre Stevenson. However, Henderson is such a dynamic player that he just might post big numbers even without a heavily featured role.
6-Matthew Golden, WR, Green Bay Packers
The Packers have a chance to move the shifty, speedy Golden all around, and with a creative playcaller and a big-armed quarterback, they're poised to take full advantage of his natural abilities. Between his separation and hands, he'll capitalize on most of the opportunities he gets.
7-RJ Harvey, RB, DEN
Harvey is equal parts explosive and elusive, and he's easily the most interesting running back on the Broncos. That doesn't mean Sean Payton will task Harvey with a super heavy workload, but when the alternatives are J.K. Dobbins, Audric Estime and Jaleel McLaughlin, it might get increasingly difficult to keep Harvey off the field.
8-Kaleb Johnson, RB, PIT
Johnson looks like a Steeler. He's a clean fit with their running style, and he isn't afraid to get physical. He even donned the same color scheme at Iowa. He probably won't see much work on passing downs, but he could play a prominent role on both early downs and goal-line situations.
9-Tyler Warren, TE, IND
This is, admittedly, a bet on Warren's talent overcoming his tough situation. The Colts have multiple capable pass-catchers and no great options at quarterback. Still, Warren could become a safety net for Indy's largely unproven passers (Anthony Richardson Sr. and Daniel Jones) and, fingers crossed, maybe a not insignificant part of the red-zone plan of attack.
10-Emeka Egbuka, WR, TB
In a vacuum, there's more to like about Egbuka landing in this offensive scheme and with Baker Mayfield than this ranking reflects. It's the strength of this receiving room that's driving Egbuka down, though. He could be squeezed for targets early with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan all around, but Egbuka should carve out a niche as a tremendous route-runner with great hands.
