Former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Brad Johnson was one of the competitors in the Pop-A-Shot National Championship televised as part of ESPN's "The Ocho" programming on Friday.

Scott Setzke emerged victorious in the event, while Johnson was ultimately eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The former two-time Pro Bowl passer initially punched his ticket to the national championship after turning in the third-highest score during a regional qualifier in May (via CBS Sports' Chris Bengel).

Johnson, who played basketball in high school, explained how he developed an affinity for the arcade game.

“I’m an ’80s kind of guy — all the music and video games, and especially the arcade,” Johnson told Daniel Brown of The Athletic. “At every bowling alley, at every arcade, there was a Pop-A-Shot, and I’ve just always enjoyed it. Every sports bar, I found a challenge and tried to play somebody or tried to put up the high score.”

The 56-year-old played with four teams across 15 seasons in the NFL from 1994 through 2008. Johnson hoisted the Lombardi Trophy with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his 2002 campaign.

He ended his career with 29,054 passing yards, 166 passing touchdowns and 122 interceptions to go along with a 61.7 completion percentage.
