Falcons' Bijan Robinson Talks Working Out with Christian McCaffrey After Viral Photo
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson says some of the adjustments he's been making to his game during training camp are influenced by the four weeks he spent training with San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey this summer.
"I wanted to be with a guy that's obviously a veteran, and that has done it before... I just learned a lot of the things that I haven't known before," Robinson said at the 7:20 mark of Friday's Pivot Podcast.
"Like, on choice routes. I think he's the best choice route runner ever... just how he creates leverage, and how he creates space, is pretty special. So with me seeing that, and him teaching me that, and learning, then I'm like out here, it's starting to become super effective. And (running backs coach Michael Pitre) is like, bro, this is going to be open every single time."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Robinson's comments come two months after workout photos of him with McCaffrey went viral earlier this summer.
"Dude works hard. Christian works hard. And I want to be with a guys that works," Robinson said. "I didn't want to mess around this year and go to Dallas, or go to LA and train. I was locked in one spot, and trying to do one thing."
McCaffrey was limited to four games last season due to Achilles issues and a knee injury, but during his last healthy campaign in 2023 he led the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards in 16 games.
Robinson, who told reporters ahead of his 2024 campaign that he planned to take on a role similar to McCaffrey's, came just shy of that mark as he racked up 1,456 rushing yards in 17 games of his second NFL season.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris confirmed in December that the Falcons had envisioned a "Christian McCaffrey type role" for Robinson in 2024, per the AtlantaFalcons.com's Terrin Waack.
Now that Robinson has had the chance to learn directly from McCaffrey himself, Morris could hope to see the 23-year-old take on even more significant involvement with the Falcons as he heads into his third NFL season this fall.
