Brock Purdy Says He's 'Content' After Signing $265M 49ers Contract Before 2025 Season
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy says he is "content" after signing a five-year, $265 million extension ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
"We've got to put together a team of guys around me, and let's win. At the end of the day, let's win. That's all I care about," Purdy said at the 4:40 mark of his Friday appearance on the Rich Eisen Show. "To keep fighting for more millions of dollars, and things like that, it's like, I've got to keep it simple.
"I know what's most important in my life, and that's my family, my faith, and then obviously coming here and elevating everybody else's game and helping us win. For me, another however many millions of dollars, that's not going to satisfy me. I have everything that I need."

Purdy continued, "It's a business, so we did the business side of things. But outside of that, I'm content. I know the Niners are as well. And now you just surround yourself with a good team and go win, man."
Purdy was set to make $5.34 million on the final year of his rookie deal in 2025 before signing his five-year extension with the team.
His new contract ranks fifth among all quarterbacks in total value, as well as eighth in average annual value, per Over the Cap.
Purdy told reporters in May that he was ready to push back against a narrative that he would be willing to take a pay cut in order to remain with the organization that made him their full-time starter one year after selecting him with the last pick of the 2022 NFL draft.
"There's 32 starting quarterbacks, and those guys, it's not the easiest job in the world. And for me, with what I've done and everything, I can hang my hat on the fact that I've had success in this league, and I'm capable of leading an organization all the way to the end, to a Super Bowl," Purdy said in May.
Now that Purdy has been paid like one of the top starting quarterbacks in the league, the 49ers won't be content with missing a second straight postseason. The franchise is hoping a strong season from Purdy, combined with healthy campaigns from stars like Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams, can help the 49ers contend for another Super Bowl run starting with a Sept. 7 road game against the Seattle Seahawks.
